Humpty Dumpty Dolls from a Vintage Pattern

Consider the smugness! She knows her mascara will never run. I sewed Mrs. Humpty Dumpty, and her husband, from my marvelous vintage McCall's 8895--*the* pattern for your bazaar crafting needs.

I'd never embroidered wool felt before, so didn't know how much fun it is! I gave the Missus full make-up, and Mister has a comb-over on the top of his banty egg head.

Check them out in the shop!

I have always had a weakness for Humpty Dumptys - ask anyone I work with!

What a surprise, my grandmother made one of these for me and my sister when we were around 8 or 9. On the body she sewed lace that she brought from Germany. These are so cute!

I love those old toy patterns. I think I have a few which I haven't done anything with yet. :( You did beautiful work. Will you make me an Elephant in patriotic fabrics? I'll buy it from you. :) Have you been thrifting lately?

Anna, your creativity is infectious--thanks for sharing your projects. I have a wonderful book recommendation for Felix, it comes highly recommended by my 12 year old birder--Call Collect, Ask for Birdman, by James M. Vardaman. It is an incredible story of one man's Big Year for North America.

I've just discovered your blog via the Sense & Sensibility site... and I'm amazed. You make everything look so beautiful, both things you make and things you buy in thrift stores... Congratulations on that talent.

I had forgotten about these until I saw your post. My girlfriend, 25 years ago, made me one of these as a baby gift - fun to remember!
