Our FAVORITE food lately. Cook the beet root and puree it with squash and carrots in soup, and save the greens to be wilted atop scrambled eggs.

Are these from your garden? My little beet starts are still quite small, but I will be ready when they are! :)

It is a beautiful picture! I too love beets.

I've been wanting to ask about the shoes you wear in a couple of recent photos. Are they Dansk brand? And if so what color and style...MaryJanes? I have to get some for me. I love the color and the way they look, especially with your vintage clothing!

Have you ever grown the beetroot called Choggia? It has concentric rings of pink and white when you cut it.
So pretty.

In case y'all go looking for the pink and white striped beet seeds, sometimes they are spelled "chiogga".

Thanks yes. I think between us we are right. It might have a sprinkling of 'i's. Try chioggia or just candy beets.
