Clara Mends a Sweater

Miss Pointy Elbows reinforcing the thin places in the sleeves of her cashmere sweater--so easy with a felting needle and some matching roving.

We learned about this in Living magazine, and it really works.

I've been wanting to do this for a sweater I have but have been scared and unsure how to find the right yarn / fibers. I'm glad it went well for you.

very clever - wouldn't want to lose a nice cashmere to a hole!

I must look into this, as I've been teaching myself to mend all kinds of things this winter. But the only thing I know about felting is how to make felt from old sweaters!

What a great idea! Darning goes by the wayside!

Wow - I've never heard of this! Is it in a recent issue? I'll try and look it up.

Maybe Clara's elbows will become less pointy with age. :)

I have got to learn this technique! Years ago I lost a pale pink cashmere twinset to a couple of small holes and have been grumpy about it ever since! Perhaps I can find the magazine article....
